Six Giant Statistics For Week Six

For the week six game here are six statistics on the Giant players.

  1. Daniel Jones is tie for fourth most  passing touchdowns of 21+ yards over the 2019-2020 seasons with 12. It is a seven way tie which puts Jones in the top ten quarterbacks in this metric. He did this in spite of starting only 17 games whereas the others averaged 19.6 starts. Jones and Lamar Jackson were the youngest quarterbacks to make the top ten.
  2. Blake Martinez is two tackles short of Jessie Armstead for the most total tackles by a Giant thru five games since 1987. Martinez, who averaged 10 tackles per game, will need twelve this Sunday to tie Armstead.Martinez has played every defensive snap this season. The only defensive player to do so.
  3. Golden Tate has an active streak of six games with 4+ receptions. That is tie for the eighth best streak by a Giant. One more game and he will tie streaks held by Sterling Shepard and Plaxico Burress.
  4. James Bradberry leads the league in passes defended this season with nine. That is tie for 20th most thru five games since 1999. He needs two this Sunday to not drop from 20th. If he gets two he will move into a tie for eighth most thru six games since 1999.
  5. The last time Daniel Jones played the Washington team in December 2019 he passed for 352 yards. That was the highest of his career. He is the only Giant quarterback to pass for over 300 yards in a game by age 22 and he has five games he did so. Even by age 23 only Phil Simms makes the list with one game.
  6. Daniel Jones’ five passing touchdowns in that game is his career high and is tie for fourth most by a Giant in a game. He is the only Giant to pass for five touchdowns in a game by age 22 and was the youngest on the list by 2 years. Phil Simms accomplished it by age 24.

If today’s week six games go with the point spreads the Giants could be one game out of first place in the division after this weekend. They are the only favored NFC East team.  Go Giants! Enjoy the game.
