Sixty-Four Days to the Unofficial Start of the NFL Season

Sixty-Four  days to the unofficial start of the 2020 NFL season with the Hall of Fame Game on August 6th. The number 64 is the number of yards of Golden Tate’s longest reception of 2019. It was a touchdown reception against the Patriots on October 10th. Tate received Daniel Jones pass in stride and gained 35 yards after the catch for a touchdown. It was the longest reception by a Giants’ wide receiver in 2019. The catch made Tate one of just 23 wide receivers in 2019 that had a touchdown reception of 64 yards or more.

Golden Tate is twelfth in total receiving yards among active receivers. Among active receivers over the last ten seasons, Golden Tate is thirteenth in number of receptions of 10+ yards.  In 2019 Golden Tate led the Giant wide receivers in yards after the catch per reception with 5.8 yards. That was eighth best among wide receivers in the league. Tate was one of only nine receivers in 2019 to have two plays of 60+ yards. A.J Brown was the only one to have three.
