Giants 2021 Third Round Draft Prospects

The is the third post on 2021 draft prospects for the Giants based on availability as projected using the Fanspeak.com draft simulator. I don’t skip players that look like they should have gone sooner but just go with what the simulator shows available. Here are the Round Three prospects.

WR Seth Williams

Last season Seth Williams had a 30.8% team market share of receiving yards. 98% of long-term starting players reached this level of market share production since 1969. This season thru six games he has 36%. Seth Williams is a solid hands catcher that does a good job high-pointing the catch and coming thru in the clutch. In 2018 he had the game winning touchdown against A&M with under 2 minutes left. In 2019 he had three receptions on the final drive against Oregon including the game winning touchdown with 9 seconds left. In 2020 he had two touchdowns in the win over Kentucky. The second one coming on third-and-goal contested catch as Auburn led just 15-13 in the fourth.

OT Abraham Lucas

As reported by Pro Football Focus, in 2019 Abraham Lucas gave up just 14 pressures on 786 pass-blocking snaps for under 2%. Lucas has a strong work ethic. As a redshirt freshman in 2018 Lucas made the USA Today and Athletic Freshman All America Team. For his 2019 season Lucas was rated the best pass-blocking OT in the country and rated 4th-best overall OT in the country. At 6’7″ and 328 lbs Lucas would be the biggest offensive lineman on the Giants. Yet he still has exceptional footwork.

ED Joe Tryon

Last season Joe Tryon had 8 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss. Those numbers were good for a 26.7% team market share of sacks and 17.6% team market share of tackles for loss. Those numbers are indicative of a potential All-Pro to Pro Bowl players since the 1989 NFL draft class. His solo tackles (27) of 5.1% team market share were low. Tryon has a strong work ethic and great size at 6’5″ and 262 lbs. Yet he is agile and mobile.

LB Dylan Moses

In 2020 thru six games Dylan Moses has 29 solo tackles for anĀ  11.8% team market share. That is indicative of a potential All-Pro to Pro Bowl players since the 1989 NFL draft class. Moses has great sideline to sideline range. He shows great speed to get to the ball carrier. Moses has earned only a 50 coverage grade this season and has zero passes defended and one interception.

CB Jaycee Horn

In 2020 Jaycee Horn has two interceptions and six passes defended for a 33% and 31.6% team market share respectively. Those market share numbers are indicative of a potential All-Pro to Pro Bowl players since the 1989 NFL draft class. His ten solo tackles is low. Against Auburn this season Horn had 8 targets and allowed only 2 catches. He had 5 forced incompletions and 2 interceptions. Horn plays physical but sometimes too much drawing the penalty.

S Trevon Moehrig

Last season Moehrig had four interceptions and eleven passes defended which was good for team market shares of 25% and 22% respectively. His solo tackles of 43 was a 9.5% team market share. All were indicative of a potential All-Pro to Pro Bowl players since the 1989 NFL draft class. In 2019 he allowed just two of 17 contested targets to be caught. He was the highest graded safety by Pro Football Focus in 2019.
