Week 12 Giants Notes

The current Giants are in the top sixteen percent of Giants seasons in rushing yards per attempt since 1978. The Giants currently rank ninth in the league this season in rushing yards per attempt. They rank second in the NFC East in rushing yards per attempt. The Giants are way out in the lead in the NFC East in rushing margin with a +96 yards and the second place team has -123 yards.

They are also in the top ten percent in fourth down conversion percent among all Giant teams since 1991. They make the top twenty percent among Giant teams in third down conversion percentage since 1991. The Giants are second in the NFC East in third down conversion percentage and first in fourth down conversion percentage,

Darius Slayton has the highest first down to target percentage on the Giants this season with 46.9%. He is followed by tight end Kaden Smith but Smith has only had 17 targets. Close to Smith is sure handed Sterling Shepard with 40.5% 1d/targets and 42 targets.

The Giants lead the NFC East in turnover margin with a zero and the next team at minus six.The Giants also lead the NFC East in 1st quarter score margin having the only positive margin with a +16. In fact they lead the NFC East in score margin thru the 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarters. They are last in the NFC East in 4th quarter score margin.

There are only 17 quarterbacks all-time that in their first 22 starts had a 61% pass completion percentage, 5,100 passing yards, a passer rating of 81 an d 31 passing touchdowns. Daniel Jones is one of them. Nine active quarterbacks including Jones makes the list. Of those 17  quarterbacks Daniel Jones has the highest rushing yards per attempt and the third most rushing yards.Of the nine active quarterbacks, three are currently sidelined – Nick Foles, Marcus Mariotta and Jimmy Garoppolo. Of the eight non-active quarterbacks on the list – two are in the Hall of Fame, another won a Super Bowl, another holds the second highest career passer rating in the fourth quarter, one was a First Team All Pro, two were Pro Bowl MVPs and the last was a 4 time Pro Bowl player.
