According to Pro Football Focus in week one Daniel Jones was under pressure within 2.5 seconds of the snap 24 times (42% of dropbacks) and eight times more than the next quarterback.
The Steelers blitzed Jones 61% of dropbacks. That was the highest rate of any team in Week 1.For a young quarterback Jones handles the blitz fairly well. According to Next Gen Stats his comp percent over expected when blitzed was only only -1.6% below expectation.
Head coach Joe Judge had this to say about Jones – “You watch that tape from the other night — that dude stood in there like a man and delivered that ball down the field, That dude stood in there aggressively, he stood in there tough, he stood in there confidently and our team feeds off that. We’re proud to have him on our team.”
His week one quarterback rating of 79.2, though 23rd, was still better than Tom Brady, Kyler Murray, Carson Wentz, Baker Mayfield and Mathew Stafford for week one.

Jones continues to impress even in his losses. The Offensive line had no preseason games and limited offseason/preseason time to jell. They have a rookie starting at left tackle and a center that had never played the position before camp. As the line gets more experience together, Daniel Jones should see a marked improvement in outcomes. The Steelers were a tough opponent to start against. It should also help if Golden Tate returns. Daniel Jones has the second longest active streak of games with a passing touchdown with 13. That is at least one in every game he has started. Daniel Jones, Baker Mayfield and Kurt Warner are the only 3 quarterbacks since 1950 that had a passing touchdown in each of their first thirteen starts. If Jones goes 5 more games it will be only Jones and Kurt Warner. He would have to continue for a total of 24 games or 11 more to be the sole quarterback. Go Danny Dimes!

Only Patrick Mahomes and DeShaun Watson had more. There are only seven quarterbacks since 1950 that had 5 or more 300+ passing games in their first 13 starts.
